I’m a User Experience Designer with over 3 years of experience. After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2021 from the User Experience Design program I was excited to jump into the workforce and begin making excellent experiences.
I apply research, sound reasoning, and creative flair to all of my work. I have always questioned the norm and enjoy the challenge of figuring out why things are the way they are, and how they can be better.
One of the features that attracts me to UX is that User Experience Design is everywhere. I am constantly applying my knowledge in UX to imagine how the world around me could be improved. With my combination of training and work experience, I have developed an even deeper desire to help others. I always want to put other people first when working on projects and work tirelessly to understand their journeys because they are the ones who are affected by what I create. I love creating innovative solutions to huge problems and my goal as a UX designer is to create meaningful change.
In my spare time, I love hiking with my golden retriever, Cashus, driving (both my car and on the golf course), and playing games with friends. I also love researching new technology and learning new skills.
Being a well rounded User Experience Designer requires a wide variety of skills. Throughout my career so far I've worked hard to develop many of these hard and soft skills that are required in this field. I've even branched out and done some scrum master work by gaining a deeper knowledge of how to work in successful cross-functional teams. While I have a number of applicable skills required for a UX designer, my top skills are as follows:
